Apsaalooke Tours Information

Apsáalooke ancestral lands once extended far beyond the borders of modern-day Montana and Wyoming, encompassing a vast expanse of the Northern Plains.

Outside Crow Agency in south-central Montana lies Apsáalooke Tours, a guided journey through the storied footsteps of the Crow (Apsáalooke) Nation. Apsáalooke Tours offers air-conditioned bus tours with Native American interpretive guides. The tours take place among the rolling prairie, the meandering Little Bighorn River, and the silhouette of the Big Horn and Pryor Mountains — sacred in Crow tradition.

Apsáalooke Tours offer seasonal bus tours, including the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument — a historic site where warriors of the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes battled the 7th Regiment of the US Cavalry and the Rosebud Battlefield — where a coalition of Lakota Sioux and Northern Cheyenne warriors, alongside Crow and Shoshone allies, clashed with General Crook’s forces. The tour will give you a deeper understanding of the bravery and resilience of the Apsáalooke warriors and other Native American tribes who fought to protect their land and way of life.

The tours can also include the Pictograph Caves, where ancient rock art tells the story of the first peoples to inhabit this land. Visit Medicine Wheel / Medicine Mountain National Historic Landmark, where history and nature come together.  Enjoy the beauty of Ok-A-Beh Marina, Yellowtail Dam, and Bighorn Canyon, a scenic launch point into the waters on the North Shore of Bighorn Lake near Fort Smith.

Apsáalooke Tours also offers private tours at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. Call or email for availability.
