Bay Mills Powwow

Bay Mills Powwow Information

Please join us on June 26th - 28th, 2026, for the 35th Annual "Honoring Our Veterans Pow Wow" at the Riverview Campground in Brimley, Michigan, along the southern shore of Lake Superior. This traditional gathering features drumming, dancing and community celebration at Gnoozhekaaning (Place of the Pike). Grand Entry is 7 PM on Friday, June 26th.

The gathering is more than a celebration; it is an act of remembrance, cultural continuity, and living sovereignty. The powwow honors Native veterans whose military service reaches back generations, from Anishinaabe warriors to modern servicemen and women. The event is free and open to the public, offering a rich cultural experience.

The Bay Mills Indian Community is one of the largest Ojibwe communities in the Upper Peninsula and remains deeply rooted in Anishinaabe traditions, language, and environmental stewardship. Lodging is available at Bay Mills Resort & Casino or Sunrise RV Campground. Rustic camping is also available.
