Hadley’s Fruit Orchards

Hadley’s Fruit Orchards Information

Hadley Fruit Orchards is more than a roadside favorite, it’s part of a living legacy rooted in the heritage of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, whose ancestral lands span the San Gorgonio Pass of Southern California. Established in the 1860s, the Morongo Reservation is home to one of the most successful and sovereign Native American governments in the U.S., committed to economic development, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship.

In 1999, the Morongo Band acquired Hadley Fruit Orchards, deepening a relationship that began decades earlier when founder Paul Hadley shared his harvests with the local tribal community. That early spirit of generosity continues today under tribal ownership, with the Morongo people proudly operating Hadley’s as a place of hospitality, tradition, and high-quality local goods.

Founded in 1931 by Paul and Peggy Hadley, the orchard began as a small fruit stand and has grown into a beloved destination for travelers along Interstate 10. Located in Cabazon, it offers a wide selection of dates, nuts, dried fruits, and specialty foods, many of which are sourced from California’s fertile growing regions.

Visitors are drawn not only to the shop’s array of local products but also to its on-site café, famous for its handcrafted date shakes, paninis and trail mixes. Whether you're grabbing a snack or browsing for gifts, Hadley’s delivers a taste of California’s agricultural bounty in a welcoming, culturally rich setting.

For generations, Hadley Fruit Orchards has been a must-stop destination and under Morongo stewardship, it continues to honor its past while thriving in the present.
