The Citizen Potawatomi originally occupied the Great Lakes region of the United States. Indian policies led to the eventual removal to Indian Territory (Oklahoma) and their headquarters in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Visit the beautiful Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Cultural Heritage Center, which was built to educate tribal members, the greater Native American community and other visitors, about the historical and contemporary aspects of the tribe. The Gift Shop is your one stop shop for Native-made and Native-themed gifts, and Native craftwork supplies.
Make an appointment to tour the Eagle Aviary which offers a permanent home to birds of prey rescued from the wild that have been injured and cannot be rehabilitated and released.
