The Historic Requa Inn

The Historic Requa Inn Information

Located in the heart of the Redwoods on the banks of the mystical Klamath River - sits the Historic Requa Inn, named for the Yurok "the mouth of the river" the Inn was built in 1914 - with 14 bedrooms and in an Arts and Crafts Inn - where the Owner, Jan Wortman, a Yurok Tribal Elder will share her home, her stories and her incredible cooking with guests from all over the world.

This is the first time in 160 years that this property, located on the Yurok reservation has been owned by a Yurok Tribal member, an accomplishment in itself, but Requa Hill is also where Jan's maternal grandmothers' home has been since time began, at the house of Lay-equ, the Brooks family has lived for generations.  Lavina Bowers, Jans' mother still lives on their family's allotment land - which overlooks the mouth of the River and the Sacred Rock Oregas.

Dinner is served April - October with everyone eating family style with the freshest local organic ingredients and cooked to perfection.  The beds are all covered in down pillows and quilts, no phones, no tv's invite you to drift off to sleep with the hum of the Pacific Ocean in the background.  In the morning you will awake to the smell of fresh baked cinnamon rolls, farm-fresh organic eggs from just up the hill and the fluffiest pancakes you've ever tasted. Enjoy an agritourism experience right here at the Inn.
